Communicator for Region Gotland

Administrative Unit

We are looking for a communicator who wants to work with communication efforts related to the transformation of social services, according to the new Social Services Act that came into force on July 1, 2025.

The transformation work is driven in project form under the name “A Sustainable Social Service”. The vision is to be a preventive social service – easy to reach, easy to understand. Communication is an important tool to achieve that vision. Therefore, we are looking for a new colleague for a project employment.

You will be based in the administrative unit of the social administration, where you have 14 competent colleagues who work across departments and independently in their respective assignments. We gladly support each other when needed and have a strong sense of community.

Your Responsibilities

Your role includes providing both strategic and operational communication support to the project. You will be responsible for both internal and external communication, which may include web publishing, social media publishing, and the production of texts, moving images, and image management.

You will also be responsible for contacts with communication agencies and for producing communication materials for campaigns, advertisements, and ongoing information efforts. The work also includes conducting surveys and monitoring the environment concerning communication related to the new Social Services Act.

The work is carried out in accordance with the project's established project plan and communication plan. As part of the assignment, you will also be part of a national network for communicators working with the new Social Services Act.

In this role, you will work closely with the project manager for “A Sustainable Social Service” and the administrative communicator within the social administration, contributing together with them to develop and implement communication efforts related to the project.

Other communication assignments within the administration may also occur.

The employment rate is 75–100% and the assignment runs until December 2028.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a genuine commitment to social issues and who wants to contribute to developing the future of social services.

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in media and communication studies or another post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent, as well as several years of experience in communication work. You are used to working both strategically and operationally, as well as formulating, packaging, and communicating messages in various channels. You are a skilled user of digital tools.

You have an excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, and you have a B driver's license.

As a person, you are communicative, responsible, and structured. You are self-driven and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively with a good ability to meet deadlines. You are creative and enjoy contributing ideas and new approaches to your work. We also see that you are development-oriented and thrive when you can be involved in driving and implementing change. At the same time, you are attentive in your contacts and contribute to good collaboration.

About the Social Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we work in the social administration with social interventions such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation are social services, home healthcare, elderly care, and care for people with disabilities throughout Gotland.
